What is the job?

Food and Beverage is what adds flavour to a stay! Guests love to enjoy delicious, freshly-prepared and beautifully presented food. To deliver a great guest experience – As the F&B Hostess, you’ll show around food and beverage outlets in a timely manner, helping guests to have memorable experiences whenever and wherever they dine.

Your day-to-day:

• Meet and greet all guests and potential guests, at the front of the F&B outlet by ensuring the following:
• Ensure the F&B outlet is ready to receive guests prior to opening and that both wait staff and tables are ready in line with opening standards
• Ensure F&B outlet operating equipment is clean and in working order
• Maintaining impeccable uniform and personal presentation standards in accordance with hotel policy.
• Welcoming guests to the F&B outlet
• Being attentive to guest’s requests
• Escort guests to their preferred table or reserved table and seat guests according to F&B outlet standards
• Manage reservations and document in the Reservation book according to F&B outlet standards
• Train waiter staff and bus staff in hostess standards
• Be attentive to guests and resolve their complaints where possible, reporting all incidents to your Supervisor
• Take action to solve guest problems/complaints and use established guidelines for any service recovery to ensure guest satisfaction
• Receive guest payments and process transactions as outlined in the cash and charge procedures as needed
• Work as team and communicate and co-ordinate with other departments to ensure excellent quality and service
• Maintain responsibility of cleanliness of hostess stations, all menus and drink menus
• Assist with food & beverage service
• Maintain detailed knowledge of menu, including daily specials
• Ensure tables are cleared quietly and efficiently
• May assist with other duties as assigned

What we need from you?

• Basic reading and writing. Food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations preferred. Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.
