Hostess Position

Sticky Elbow is a fine-casual dining restaurant with a full-service bar, and we are currently looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Hostess to join our team.

As the first point of contact for our guests, the Hostess plays an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. The ideal candidate is positive, organized, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests as they arrive and provide a welcoming first impression.
• Manage the waitlist and provide accurate wait-time estimates when necessary.
• Escort guests to their tables or designated waiting areas.
• Provide menus and answer guests’ initial questions.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and respond to guest inquiries.
• Take takeout orders when needed.
• Seat guests according to their preferences while maintaining an appropriate table rotation to ensure balanced service for all servers.
• Check in with guests to help ensure they are satisfied with their dining experience.
• Respond to guest concerns and assist with resolving issues professionally and courteously.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the menu and be able to answer basic questions about food and beverages.
• Assist other restaurant staff and departments as needed.
• Buss and reset tables promptly and efficiently for incoming guests.
• Run food to designated tables when needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout every guest interaction.
• Follow all restaurant procedures and instructions, asking questions when clarification is needed.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working as part of a team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, friendly, and professional in a busy environment.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to safely lift and maneuver trays of food when necessary.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and assist wherever needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent guest service.

Pay: $11.00 per hour
