Host / Server Job Description

Position Title: Host / Server
Location: Restaurant
Reports To: General Manager / Floor Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Host/Server to join our team. This position is responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations and seating, and providing excellent table service to ensure an outstanding dining experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesHost Duties:

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them when leaving
• Manage waitlist and reservations accurately
• Seat guests efficiently while maintaining proper table rotation
• Answer phone calls and provide accurate information about menu and hours
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand and entrance area
• Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff

Server Duties:

• Present menus and explain specials or promotions
• Take accurate food and beverage orders
• Enter orders into POS system promptly
• Deliver food and drinks in a timely and professional manner
• Check on guests to ensure satisfaction
• Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally
• Process payments (cash and credit cards) accurately
• Assist with side work and maintain cleanliness of dining area

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience preferred (but willing to train the right candidate)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills for handling payments
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to carry trays and lift up to 25–30 lbs
• Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment
