The Purple Pig is seeking professional, personable, and enthusiastic Hosts to join our team. The Host plays a critical role in creating a welcoming first impression and coordinating dining room flow to ensure every guest receives exceptional service. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and enjoys being at the center of the hospitality experience.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Skills

· Welcome and greet guests promptly, courteously, and graciously, addressing guests by name whenever possible

· Create a warm and inviting first impression while delivering exceptional hospitality

· Escort guests to tables and provide menus

· Answer phones, manage reservations and guest notes in Tock, and assist with to-go orders, payment processing, and order handoff

· Manage the host stand and waitlist efficiently, communicating accurate wait times and guest seating updates

· Communicate effectively with management and the service team to ensure smooth dining room operations

· Handle guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when appropriate

· Maintain professionalism and composure in high-volume and high-pressure situations

· Respond appropriately in dining room emergencies or safety-related situations

· Ensure menus, host stand materials, and guest-facing displays remain clean, organized, and presentable

· Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team while maintaining a positive, flexible attitude

· Adhere to all company safety, sanitation, and service standards

· Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Previous host or customer service experience preferred

· Experience with reservation and waitlist platforms (such as Seven Rooms or OpenTable) is a plus

· Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills

· Friendly, professional, and team-oriented demeanor

· Passion for hospitality and guest service

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed

· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Schedule & Compensation

· Full-time and part-time positions available.

· Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is strongly preferred.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
