Host/Hostess

Position Overview

Host/Hostess is responsible for creating a warm and positive first impression while helping maintain an organized and efficient front-of-house operation. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests as they arrive and thank them as they leave
• Manage the restaurant’s waitlist, reservations, and seating flow
• Accurately communicate wait times and table availability to guests
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Maintain awareness of table status and help ensure sections are seated fairly and appropriately
• Answer phones and assist guests with questions about the restaurant, menu, reservations, and hours
• Assist with takeout orders and other front-of-house needs as necessary
• Keep the host stand, entrance, and surrounding areas clean, organized, and presentable
• Communicate guest requests, concerns, and special occasions to the appropriate team members
• Support servers, bussers, and management when needed
• Follow all restaurant policies and procedures
• Provide consistently friendly, professional, and attentive guest service

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred, but not required
• Friendly, outgoing, and approachable personality
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable and punctual
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Pay: From $10.00 per hour
