Host/Hostess

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Hostess to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth seating and reservation management. Your excellent customer service skills and ability to handle restaurant systems efficiently will contribute to a positive dining experience for all patrons.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage guest check-in procedures.
• Use POS systems and restaurant table management software to assign tables, monitor wait times, and update reservations.
• Answer phone inquiries professionally, providing information about the restaurant, reservations, and wait times.
• Manage seating arrangements to optimize restaurant flow while accommodating special requests when possible.
• Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station.
• Collaborate with the restaurant staff to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction.
• Handle basic math calculations accurately for managing reservations and guest counts.
• Uphold high standards of customer service by addressing guest needs promptly and courteously.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant table management software is highly desirable.
• Excellent phone communication skills for handling reservations and guest inquiries.
• Ability to perform basic math accurately in fast-paced environments.
• Previous food service experience is beneficial but not mandatory; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
