Duties

• Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor and assist with seating arrangements to ensure smooth flow of service
• Manage restaurant reservation systems, including booking, modifying, and confirming reservations using restaurant table management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Answer incoming phone calls professionally, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries while maintaining proper phone etiquette
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize table turnover and guest seating efficiency
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, ensuring all reservation records are accurate and up-to-date
• Assist in managing guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously to enhance overall guest experience
• Support food safety standards by adhering to hygiene protocols during guest interactions

Skills

• Proven experience as a Host/Hostess or in a similar hospitality role within a restaurant setting
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and over the phone
• Knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Familiarity with restaurant table management systems and POS systems for efficient operations
• Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple reservations and guest requests simultaneously
• Basic math skills for managing waitlists, seating calculations, and billing procedures
• Understanding of food safety practices and hospitality standards to ensure guest well-being
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and professional appearance
