Host/Hostess

Summary:

The role of the Host is to provide guests a warm welcome upon arrival and a fond farewell upon departure. The Host will manage the day-to-day reservations, walk-ins in Open Table and are ambassadors for Le Colonial. Must always be present at the host stand in uniform ready to welcome guests in with a smile. Manage the reservations throughout the week with confirmation calls, must have a good understanding with OpenTable in making and editing reservations, table assignments. Always follow the 3 S’s rule of See, Smile, Say Hello before the guests do.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Report to work in proper uniform, abiding by the uniform guidelines
• Greet guests in a warm, friendly and sincere manner
• Keep track of walk-in and reservation guests through Open Table; Must have solid knowledge on how to use Open Table and phone systems (placing calls on hold, transferring calls, etc.)
• Update guest notes, profiles and preferences
• Maintain and manage waitlist
• Greet and seat guests (pulling chairs out and presenting menus to ladies first)
• Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
• Inspect menus for cleanliness and crispness and change out when necessary
• Answer phone with knowledge of the operations of the restaurant and/or direct guests for further assistance (refer to hostess training manual); Answer phone within three rings
• Clean, organize and stock menus at host area (matches are always stocked up)
• All candles are lit for dinner service
• Other duties as directed

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in customer service (Restaurant experience preferred)
• Excellent phone skills and communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Positive attitude
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to stay organized while working in a fast paced environment
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required

Physical Demands:
This position is very active and requires standing for long periods of time. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 20 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This position regularly requires long hours and a schedule that fluctuates based on business needs. Holiday and weekend shifts are required in this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
