Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional customer service.
• Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
• Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction, ensuring smooth flow during busy hours.
• Answer incoming phone calls with proper phone etiquette, taking reservations and addressing guest inquiries clearly and courteously.
• Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times effectively to guests.
• Support food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness and adherence to hygiene protocols in the host station.
• Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless guest service and positive guest relations.

Experience

• Prior experience as a host/hostess or in a food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is key!
• Strong communication skills, including clear verbal skills and active listening, are essential for engaging with guests and team members.
• Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
• Basic math skills are necessary for handling seating capacity and managing wait times accurately.
• Previous experience with POS systems, including Micros POS or similar platforms, will help streamline operations.
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests efficiently.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and excellent guest service skills are vital for creating memorable dining experiences.
