ABOUT THE PROPERTY

Located along the waterfront in Marina del Rey, Jamaica Bay Inn, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a boutique coastal retreat with island-inspired charm and beautiful views of Mother’s Beach and the marina. THE ROLE
As a Host/Hostess, you’ll be the first face guests see when they arrive at the restaurant, setting the tone for their entire dining experience. You’ll warmly welcome and seat guests, manage reservations, keep the dining room running smoothly, and help ensure every guest feels genuinely cared for from arrival through departure. You will:

• Warmly greet, acknowledge, and welcome every arriving guest
• Escort guests to their tables, assist with seating, and present menus
• Manage restaurant reservations, cancellations, and the reservation book
• Answer the restaurant telephone courteously and assist with guest questions
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and beverage offerings
• Stay informed about hotel and local events to provide helpful recommendations and information
• Monitor the dining room and guest needs throughout service
• Inspect tables and service stations to ensure they meet restaurant standards
• Communicate service needs or deficiencies to the appropriate team members and follow up on corrections
• Assist with preparing the restaurant for service and keeping the dining room clean and organized
• Ensure tables are cleaned and reset promptly and according to standards
• Create a warm and courteous farewell as guests depart
• Help maintain smooth restaurant operations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor
• Report missing or found items and damaged equipment or property
• Support other team members and departments to help the restaurant and hotel operate at their best

Every guest receives a warm, polished welcome and knows they’re in good hands from the moment they arrive. Reservations and seating flow smoothly, the dining room stays organized and guest-ready, and communication between the Host team and restaurant staff keeps service moving efficiently.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 1+ year of restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
• Previous restaurant service experience is a plus
• Warm, friendly, and confident approach to guest service
• Strong communication skills and professional presence
• Ability to manage reservations, answer phones, and handle multiple guest needs at once
• Knowledge of restaurant menus and beverage offerings, or the ability to learn quickly
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a busy environment
• Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work effectively within established service standards and procedures
• Must be 21 years of age if the role requires serving alcoholic beverages
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. without assistance

• Hourly Rate Range: $17.87 - $19.87
