Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a memorable dining experience from the moment they arrive. Duties

• Welcome guests warmly as they arrive, providing friendly and professional assistance
• Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating charts to optimize table turnover and guest flow
• Answer phone calls promptly, using proper phone etiquette to handle reservation inquiries and guest questions
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and guest service
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area and waiting list logs
• Use restaurant table management systems such as Toast POS to track reservations and seating arrangements
• Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and provide information about menu items or restaurant policies

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant setting
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Knowledge of restaurant reservation management software and POS systems like Toast POS
• Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating efficiently
• Basic math skills for handling wait times, party sizes, and billing procedures if needed
• Familiarity with food safety standards and hospitality best practices
• Ability to handle phone communication professionally, demonstrating good phone etiquette
• Experience in food service environments is preferred but not required; a passion for hospitality is essential
