Host/Hostess

Robbinsville Bar & Grill is looking for a welcoming, dependable Host/Hostess to be part of our front-of-house team. The host is often the first person our guests interact with, so a friendly attitude, professionalism, and strong communication skills are important.

This position is responsible for helping guests feel welcomed, keeping the front entrance organized, managing the flow of the dining room, and assisting with phone and guest inquiries. The ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking and enjoys working in a busy restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests promptly and provide a friendly first impression
• Manage the host stand, seating rotation, reservations, and waitlist
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus as needed
• Communicate daily specials, restaurant information, and basic menu questions to guests
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist guests with questions
• Take and accurately record takeout and phone orders
• Provide information about reservations, hours, menu items, and restaurant services
• Communicate with servers, kitchen staff, bartenders, and management to help maintain an efficient flow of service
• Monitor the entrance and dining area to keep the guest-facing areas clean and organized
• Assist with table resets and other dining-room tasks when needed
• Help maintain a welcoming and organized atmosphere throughout the restaurant
• Handle guest concerns professionally and involve a manager when necessary
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work duties
• Follow restaurant procedures and directions from management

Qualifications

• Previous hosting or restaurant experience
• Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with guests
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Able to answer phones and communicate clearly with customers
• Organized and able to manage multiple tasks during busy periods
• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Able to remain professional and positive when the restaurant is busy
• Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
