Host/Hostess

Busy downtown King Street Greek restaurant is seeking a hostess.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and table assignments
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to reservation inquiries professionally
• Confirm reservations and accurately update guest information
• Coordinate seating with servers and management to ensure smooth table rotation
• Monitor dining times and table availability during busy service
• Communicate wait times clearly and professionally to guests
• Accommodate guest requests and special occasions whenever possible
• Assist with large-party reservations and communicate important details to management
• Maintain an organized, clean, and professional host stand and entrance
• Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, bussers, kitchen staff, and management
• Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally and involve a manager when necessary
• Help create an energetic, welcoming, and authentic Greek hospitality experience

Qualifications

Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, particularly in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and customer-service skills, can confidently multitask under pressure, has strong attention to detail, and maintains a positive and professional attitude during busy periods.

The position requires someone who is reliable, punctual, personable, and comfortable taking initiative. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who understands hospitality — someone who can make every guest feel welcomed while confidently managing the pace and energy of a busy downtown restaurant.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $17.95-$24.00 per hour
