Host/Hostess

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, manage reservations, and ensure smooth seating operations. This role is essential in delivering exceptional guest services and supporting the overall dining experience. Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments, along with excellent communication skills, is highly valued. The Host/Hostess will serve as the first point of contact for guests, demonstrating hospitality and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS
• Escort guests to their tables and ensure timely seating arrangements
• Answer phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize seating flow and service efficiency
• Handle guest inquiries or concerns courteously, escalating issues when necessary
• Support the restaurant’s operations by assisting with basic food service tasks when needed

Requirements

• Prior experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality preferred; restaurant experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
• Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is desirable
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor with a friendly attitude
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
• Hotel or food service experience is advantageous but not mandatory
