Job Summary

Wilde on the Porch is seeking a friendly, welcoming, and dependable Host / Hostess to join the front-of-house team. The ideal candidate will greet guests, manage seating and waitlists, assist with reservations, answer incoming calls, and help maintain an organized and welcoming entrance throughout each service period.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service
• Greet arriving guests and manage the flow of the dining room
• Assist with seating guests according to table availability and service needs
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating information accurately
• Provide estimated wait times and communicate updates professionally
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to basic restaurant inquiries
• Coordinate with servers, managers, and other team members regarding table availability
• Monitor table status and help maintain an efficient seating rotation
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus when appropriate
• Assist guests with basic menu and restaurant questions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area
• Organize menus, seating materials, reservation information, and other front-of-house supplies
• Support the service team during busy periods
• Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner
• Assist with opening, closing, and assigned side-work duties
• Follow restaurant safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures
• Perform other duties assigned by restaurant management

Requirements

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or guest-service experience preferred but not required
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and seating accuracy
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a welcoming demeanor
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
• Ability to work effectively as part of a restaurant team

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
