Host/Hostess

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a positive and memorable dining experience from the moment they arrive. In this role, you will manage restaurant reservations, greet guests with warmth, and coordinate seating arrangements efficiently. Your enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and organizational abilities will help ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Duties

• Welcome guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring they feel valued from arrival to departure
• Manage restaurant reservation systems and walk-in guest seating to optimize table turnover and guest flow
• Coordinate with the service team to assign tables and monitor wait times effectively
• Answer phone inquiries with courtesy, providing accurate information about wait times, reservations, and menu details
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station, including menus and reservation logs
• Utilize restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to track seating arrangements and reservations
• Assist in maintaining food safety standards by following proper guest interaction protocols and hygiene practices

Requirements

• Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
• Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette and guest relations abilities
• Knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems (e.g., Aloha POS, Micros POS)
• Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and guest counts accurately
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests simultaneously
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with food safety standards and hospitality best practices is a plus

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28.0 – 40.0 per week
