Job Summary

Tops Diner is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Host / Hostess to welcome guests and help create a positive dining experience. The ideal candidate has a professional attitude, communicates clearly, and enjoys working with people in a busy restaurant environment.

In this role, you will greet arriving guests, manage the seating flow, maintain an organized waiting area, and coordinate with servers and restaurant team members. Your attention to detail and welcoming approach will help ensure that guests feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Manage the seating chart and assign tables according to restaurant procedures.
• Provide accurate wait-time estimates when seating is delayed.
• Coordinate with servers and restaurant staff to maintain an efficient seating flow.
• Answer phone calls and respond to general questions professionally.
• Assist with reservations and waitlists, where applicable.
• Keep the entrance, host stand, and waiting area clean and organized.
• Communicate guest requests and special seating needs to the appropriate team members.
• Support other front-of-house duties as needed during busy periods.
• Maintain a courteous and professional attitude with guests and coworkers.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week

Work Location: In person
