Host/Hostess

Our Cincinnati venue can move from a quiet opening to a full entrance in very little time. We are looking for a friendly and confident Host/Hostess who can welcome guests, manage the flow of arrivals, and help the front-of-house team stay one step ahead during busy service.

This is a social, fast-moving hospitality role where you will meet local guests, visitors, families, and larger groups throughout the week.

Pay: $17.25–$21.75 per hour
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Positions: Full-time and part-time available
Schedule: Flexible rota covering weekdays, evenings, and weekends
Work setting: On-site
Training: Paid host and guest-service training

From arrival to seating

• Welcome guests as they enter the venue.
• Confirm reservations and record walk-in parties.
• Manage the waitlist and provide realistic waiting times.
• Organize table assignments across the service team.
• Escort guests to their table and provide menus.
• Answer phone calls about reservations, hours, and availability.
• Communicate special requests to servers and supervisors.
• Keep the entrance, host station, and menus ready for service.

You will work closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen colleagues, shift leaders, and venue managers. Clear communication is important because table availability, larger parties, and reservation times can change quickly during a busy shift.

We would like to meet someone who:

• Speaks to guests with warmth and confidence.
• Keeps track of names, numbers, and estimated wait times.
• Handles busy periods without becoming flustered.
• Notices when a guest needs an update or additional assistance.
• Communicates clearly with the wider hospitality team.
• Arrives prepared and can be relied upon for scheduled shifts.

Previous host experience is welcome, but personality, communication, and reliability will carry the most weight. Paid training will cover the reservation system, seating plan, service standards, and the way different front-of-house teams work together.
