Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a positive and memorable dining experience from the moment they arrive. Duties

• Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
• Manage restaurant reservation systems, including booking, modifying, and confirming reservations using restaurant table management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization while minimizing wait times
• Answer incoming phone calls with proper phone etiquette, providing information about wait times or reservation details
• Assist guests with seating preferences and special requests to enhance their dining experience
• Maintain organized waitlists and communicate effectively with the kitchen staff and servers regarding guest flow
• Uphold food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness and proper handling of reservation materials and guest areas

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant or hospitality environment
• Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow seamlessly
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with guests, team members, and management clearly and professionally
• Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Ability to handle phone communication effectively, demonstrating proper phone etiquette at all times
• Basic math skills for managing seating capacities, wait times, and billing procedures when necessary
• Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards to ensure guest satisfaction and safety
• Experience in hotel or hospitality settings is a plus, along with a background in food service or restaurant operations
