Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and responsible Host to join our team at Mikiya Houston. This role is a key part of our front of house operations, ensuring excellent customer service, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and create a welcoming first impression
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and accurately estimate wait times
• Guide guests to their tables and provide menus and basic information
• Communicate clearly with front-of-house staff regarding new parties and seating flow
• Answer phones professionally and assist with large party bookings
• Handle guest concerns with urgency, empathy, and professionalism
• Optimize seating assignments to evenly distribute workload among servers
• Follow daily checklists, SOPs, and company policies
• Be punctual, organized, positive, and able to perform under pressure

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in hospitality; Shabu Shabu or Japanese cuisine experience preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including phone etiquette and conflict resolution
• Passion for providing exceptional service and creating memorable dining experiences
• Flexible availability, including late-night shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English; bilingual skills a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
