Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is located on Fripp Island, South Carolina, a 3500-acre private island located at the end of U.S. Highway 21 South. It is the last inhabited island in a chain of islands leading from historic Beaufort to the Atlantic Ocean. During the summer, we are in full swing with Resort guests checking in and out every week. In the offseason, we see golf groups, many weddings, and winter renters.

Join the Opening Team at the New Beach Club

Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is preparing to open the newly reimagined Beach Club Restaurant—and we are building an exceptional team to bring it to life.

Located in the heart of Fripp Island’s Beach Club complex, this new restaurant will combine a relaxed coastal setting with warm, attentive hospitality and consistently excellent food and beverage experiences. More than a restaurant opening, this is an opportunity to help establish the culture, service standards, and traditions of a destination our members and resort guests will enjoy for years to come.

We are seeking energetic, dependable, and hospitality-minded people for culinary, service, bar, support, and leadership positions. Position Summary

Fripp Island Golf Club & Resort is seeking a warm, organized, and dependable Host to create an exceptional first and final impression for our members and guests. No previous hosting experience is required. The Host manages greetings, reservations, waitlists, table status, seating flow, phone communication, and the appearance of the reception area while working closely with restaurant leadership and the service team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and guests warmly and professionally.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, table status, and approved quoted wait times.
• Seat guests according to approved rotation, table readiness, and manager direction.
• Maintain accurate communication with Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, and managers.
• Recognize returning members and maintain approved preference and celebration notes.
• Answer phones and provide accurate outlet and reservation information.
• Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and professional host stand, entrance, lobby, and menu area.
• Support approved takeout staging and handoff when assigned.
• Always involve a manager in complaints, seating disputes, service failures, or financial concerns.
• Complete opening, sidework, cleaning, and closing responsibilities.
• Work across trained restaurant, banquet, event, or reception assignments based on business needs.
• Perform other reasonable duties related to the position, training, and operational needs.

Qualifications

• No previous hosting or restaurant experience is required.
• Warm, professional communication and a genuine interest in hospitality.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, composure, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to learn reservations, waitlist, seating, table-status, phone, and outlet procedures.
• Comfort using reservation and restaurant technology after training.
• Dependable attendance and availability to work a flexible hospitality schedule.
• No degree requirement and no fixed minimum number of years.

Schedule Expectations

• Hourly, non-exempt, non-tipped position; full-time, part-time, or seasonal schedules may be available based on assignment.
• Availability may include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, peak seasonal periods, banquets, and special events.
• Work location and schedule may change based on outlet, event, and resort needs.

Advancement Opportunity

This position is focused on mastering member recognition, hospitality, reservations, seating, communication, and front-door execution. No formal advancement pathway is stated in this guide.

Requirements

To be considered, applicants must demonstrate they meet the following requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, light lifting, carrying menus and supplies, and movement through busy entrances and dining areas.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor reception areas, including changing seasonal and weather conditions where applicable.
• Ability to move light furniture, signs, menus, and host supplies safely, with assistance when appropriate.
