As the sun goes down and the ambiance of another bustling day begins to build up, along the winding streets and corners of the city, the glow of the lanterns of the izakaya begin to turn on, inviting you to the refreshing comforts of a freshly prepared food and drink, for this is only the start of a magical, entertaining night before another bustling day of work.
WHO ARE WE
Fin-Two Japanese Ale House is the first Izakaya theme restaurant within Knoxville's Old City district offering delicacies such as izakaya, ramen, yakitori (skewered & grilled items), sushi selections, and other Japanese fast foods that incorporates local, Southern ingredients.
Izakaya which means 'stay-in sake shop' (sakaya) are Japanese pubs where people can relax and enjoy freshly prepared small plates of food along with a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages like sake, shochu, wine, original beer from Asian and Europe which match the food perfectly.
Here, all our food ingredients are carefully selected and processed by a highly trained chef in a cozy working atmosphere, suitable kitchen appliances, to present food that is tasty and appealing to the eye.

We aim to create a vibrant and authentic Japanese inspired environment that will serve as a home away from home where locals and Japanese culture can come together.

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organized Host/Hostess to join our team! As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play an essential role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering an exceptional dining experience. Host/Hostess acts as an extension of the Restaurant FOH Manager by supporting the operations of the FOH and assisting with the development of the team. The ideal candidate is personable, attentive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining excellent hospitality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival and thank them for visiting upon departure.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
• Communicate and assisting servers, managers, and other team members to ensure smooth service.
• Answer incoming phone calls, respond to guest inquiries, and assist with reservations.
• Provide accurate wait-time estimates and keep guests informed of delays.
• Monitor table availability and coordinate seating to maintain an even flow of service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable entrance, host stand, and waiting area.
• Assist with special requests and accommodate guests whenever possible.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and notify management when necessary.
• Uphold restaurant service standards and contribute to a positive team environment.

• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn reservation and point-of-sale systems.
• Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform the physical duties of the position.
