Host/Hostess

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a positive and memorable dining experience from the moment they arrive. In this role, you will manage restaurant reservations, greet guests with warmth and professionalism, and coordinate seating arrangements to ensure smooth flow and guest satisfaction. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will set the tone for an exceptional hospitality environment, making every guest feel valued and comfortable.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly demeanor and assist with seating arrangements to optimize table utilization
• Manage restaurant reservation systems efficiently, including booking, modifying, and confirming reservations
• Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing information about wait times or reservation details
• Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests while managing expectations
• Coordinate with the dining team to ensure timely seating and smooth flow of service throughout shifts
• Handle guest inquiries courteously, addressing special requests or concerns to enhance guest relations
• Operate restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to track seating and reservations accurately

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant setting
• Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on clear, friendly interactions
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently using organizational skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for managing guest seating data
• Basic math skills for managing waitlists, reservations, and billing procedures when necessary
• Understanding of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest safety and satisfaction
