Job Summary

Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu is looking for a welcoming, organized, and customer-focused Host / Hostess to create a positive first impression for guests. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, managing guest arrivals, and helping maintain a smooth flow of service in a lively restaurant environment. This position is suitable for someone with strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and an interest in hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly as they arrive and thank them as they leave.
• Manage the waitlist, reservations, and seating arrangements.
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus when appropriate.
• Communicate estimated wait times clearly and politely.
• Coordinate with servers and restaurant managers to balance table assignments.
• Answer basic questions about the menu, restaurant services, and guest policies.
• Respond professionally to guest concerns and direct complex issues to management.
• Keep the entrance, host stand, and waiting area clean and organized.
• Assist with phone calls and reservation inquiries.
• Support other front-of-house duties as needed during busy shifts.

Qualifications

• Friendly personality and strong customer service skills.
• Clear verbal communication and a professional manner.
• Good organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and courteous during busy service periods.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with restaurant staff.
• Previous hosting, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred but may not be required.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
