Job Summary

PHOnomenal & Bar is looking for a friendly, reliable, and energetic Host/Hostess to welcome guests and help keep the restaurant running smoothly.

As the first and last person many guests interact with, you will be responsible for creating a positive first impression, managing seating and wait times, answering phone calls, and assisting the front-of-house team when needed.

Please note: Restaurant business can vary from day to day. Shifts are not guaranteed to run for the full scheduled time, and employees may be cut early when business is slow or staffing needs change. We are looking for team members who understand the flexible nature of restaurant scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest warmly and professionally
• Seat guests and manage table rotation fairly and efficiently
• Manage the waitlist and provide accurate estimated wait times
• Answer restaurant phone calls professionally
• Assist guests with basic menu, reservation, and restaurant questions
• Keep the host stand, entrance, and waiting area clean and organized
• Communicate with servers and managers regarding table availability
• Help maintain smooth guest flow during busy periods
• Assist with takeout orders when needed
• Help with light cleaning, resetting tables, and other front-of-house support duties
• Stay productive during slower periods and assist the team wherever needed
• Complete assigned opening and closing duties

• Able to stay calm and organized during busy periods
• Comfortable talking to guests in person and over the phone
• Willing to help outside of the host stand when needed
• Able to stand and move for extended periods
• Restaurant experience is preferred but not required — we are willing to train the right person
• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is preferred

Scheduling

Part-time and full-time opportunities may be available. Scheduling is based on restaurant needs and business volume.

Employees should be prepared for flexible shift lengths. If business is slower than expected, management may cut staff early. Scheduled start and end times are estimates and do not guarantee a specific number of hours.
