Job Summary:

As the first and last impression of the guest experience, the Host plays a key role in creating a welcoming and polished dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and seating flow, and ensuring the front-of-house operations run smoothly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet all guests with warmth and professionalism as they arrive
• Manage reservations and waitlists using reservation software (e.g., OpenTable)
• Maintain an organized and efficient seating chart to ensure timely table turnover
• Communicate with servers and managers regarding table availability and guest needs
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Answer phone calls, take to-go orders, and provide accurate information about the restaurant
• Monitor guest satisfaction and provide prompt assistance when needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and front entry area
• Support team members during peak service periods
• Ensure all guests leave with a positive impression

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a host or guest service role (preferably in upscale casual or fine dining)
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Friendly, polished, and professional demeanor
• Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Proficiency with reservation systems a plus

Appearance and Grooming:
Hosts are expected to maintain a polished and professional appearance that aligns with our upscale casual atmosphere. All team members must follow the grooming and uniform guidelines detailed in the Team Member Handbook, presenting a clean, neat, and guest-ready image at all times.

Teamwork:
Team collaboration is key to delivering an exceptional dining experience. Hosts are expected to work closely with all front- and back-of-house staff, supporting seamless communication and fostering a positive, team-oriented environment.

Reasoning Ability:
This role requires strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Hosts must be able to understand and follow written, verbal, and visual directions, respond thoughtfully to guest needs, and adapt quickly to changing situations with professionalism and sound judgment.

Work Environment:
Hosts operate in a lively, fast-paced restaurant setting with frequent guest interaction and moderate noise levels. The role requires standing for extended periods, multitasking efficiently, and maintaining composure during busy service hours.
