In this role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, managing reservations, seating arrangements, and guest inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm. Responsibilities

• Manage restaurant reservation systems and coordinate seating arrangements efficiently to minimize wait times and optimize table turnover
• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, provide accurate wait times, and guide them to their tables with friendly communication
• Handle guest inquiries via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
• Support the front-of-house team by maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting areas
• Use restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to update reservations and seating status in real-time
• Assist with guest services by addressing special requests, providing menu information, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit
• Follow food safety protocols and uphold hospitality standards to create a safe and welcoming environment for all guests

Skills

• Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service setting
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally and courteously
• Familiarity with restaurant reservation management tools and POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette
• Basic math skills for handling reservations, seating calculations, and POS transactions
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests simultaneously
• Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure a safe dining environment
