Hot Tape Operator

• Operate various hot tape machines to join/repair parts of fabricated articles for Pilot Flight and Submarine Escape garments.
• Observe seams to detect defects and notify supervisor or maintenance when defects are caused by machine malfunction.
• Cut excess material or thread, using blade attached to machine or scissors.
• Repair defects or mistakes when identified

ABILITIES

• Lift a minimum of 25 lbs is required
• Sit 90% Of the day.
• Follow packing instructions. For example: steaming, folding, picking correct packing materials according to specification.
• Good hand dexterity to manipulate fabric through machines.
• Understand units of measure in standard, metric, PSI and temperature.
• Comprehend information and ideas presented verbally or in writing.
• Communicate information and ideas verbally or in writing, to ensure the correct information is fully understood by an individual or team.
• Identify potential risks and issues and formulate an effective strategy to mitigate the risk or prevent the issue from occurring.
• Apply general rules to specific problems and solve them in a controlled and effective manner.
• Use effective time management to ensure that tasks and projects are completed within agreed time limits.
