Hotel Chief Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team to ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are operating optimally.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs in accordance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of complex mechanical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Manage facilities maintenance projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely completion within budget.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and hotel safety regulations to maintain a secure environment for staff and guests.
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), HVAC units, plumbing systems, and other mechanical equipment using tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and schematics.
• Manage facilities maintenance teams by providing leadership, training on maintenance repair procedures, safety protocols, and technical troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations while maintaining quality standards.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and system upgrades to ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Proven management experience supervising facilities or engineering teams within a hospitality or commercial environment.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including HVAC system repair, electrical systems (high voltage/low voltage), plumbing system maintenance, and industrial maintenance procedures.
• Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, CMMS software, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to facilities management and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment effectively.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Mechanical knowledge complemented by leadership skills necessary for supervising teams effectively.
• Fluency in English with strong communication skills for clear documentation and team coordination.
• Certifications related to HVAC systems repair, electrical work (including high voltage), plumbing maintenance or industrial maintenance are highly desirable.
