Job Summary

Are you a hands-on leader with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for hospitality? Staybridge Suites is seeking a dedicated Chief Engineer to oversee our property’s maintenance operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical structure, mechanical systems, and extended-stay guest suites to the highest standards.

Because Staybridge Suites caters to long-term guests, ensuring a seamless, comfortable, and fully functional environment is critical. This position requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge, and excellent problem-solving skills. Prior hospitality maintenance experience is strictly required, and compensation will be directly tailored to your level of expertise.

Core Responsibilities

• Property Maintenance: Maintain all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and architectural systems.
• Preventative Care: Implement and execute the Staybridge Suites Preventative Maintenance program for all guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor maintenance technicians.
• Vendor & Contractor Management: Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and oversee the work of third-party vendors.
• Safety & Compliance: Serve as the property's safety champion. Maintain fire safety logs, chemical safety records (SDS), and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Budgeting: Manage the engineering department's operational and capital expenditure budgets effectively.

Qualifications & Skills

• Required Experience: Proven track record in hotel maintenance with supervisory experience.
• Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and commercial kitchen/laundry equipment.
• Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and serve on-call for emergencies.
• Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 45.0 per week
