Hotel Facilities Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house areas.
• Handle basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, lighting, kitchen equipment, fixtures, and FLS systems.
• Install or replace lights, locks, hinges, fittings, and other equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve or escalate technical issues when required.

Plant & Equipment

• Inspect mechanical rooms, equipment, and building systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Identify potential faults and take preventive action.
• Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

Preventive Maintenance & Documentation

• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records.
• Record outstanding work in the engineering logbook for proper handover.
• Track maintenance requests and ensure timely completion.

Health, Safety & Contractors

• Follow all health, safety, and safe-working procedures.
• Support the maintenance of Fire Life Safety systems.
• Monitor contractors and ensure work meets hotel safety and quality standards.
• Report safety, quality, or equipment concerns to the Engineering Manager or Chief Engineer.

Guest Service

• Provide professional and guest-focused maintenance support.
• Complete repairs with minimal disruption to guests.
• Support improvements in guest satisfaction and departmental performance.

Sustainability

• Minimize waste and use materials responsibly.
• Support energy and water efficiency and the hotel’s sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in hotel engineering, facilities, or building maintenance is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, lighting, and general maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of FLS systems and workplace safety.
• Good troubleshooting skills and ability to perform minor repairs independently.

Working Requirements

• Able to perform physical maintenance work and safely use tools and equipment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Able to respond to urgent maintenance issues when required.
• Comfortable working across guest areas, kitchens, plant rooms, and back-of-house areas.
