Hotel Facility Maintenance

At Holiday Inn Houston NRG Medical Center, we take pride in providing a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our guests and team members. Our hotel is conveniently located near NRG Stadium and the Texas Medical Center, serving guests from around the world. We’re looking for a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to help ensure that every part of our property—from guest rooms to public spaces—operates efficiently and remains in top condition.

Position: Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair tasks throughout the hotel—including guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, and back-of-house spaces. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical skill, and a guest-focused attitude to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, and laundry systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest concerns in a courteous, professional manner.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections and complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.
• Maintain hotel facilities—including guest rooms, lobby, restaurant, and pool areas—in good working order.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs in carpentry, painting, tiling, and wall coverings.
• Assist management with sourcing supplies and recommending cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, brand requirements, and departmental procedures.
• Maintain and clean the pool and spa area, ensuring proper chemical balance and safety.
• Support team members and work collaboratively to complete maintenance projects on schedule.
• Be available for emergency maintenance calls after hours as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 6 months of hotel maintenance experience or related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Experience with safe handling of maintenance and pool chemicals.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible availability—including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as job duties require.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 75 pounds.
• Exposure to maintenance and pool chemicals may occur.

Work Environment:

• Moderate noise level typical of hotel and maintenance environments.
• Frequent interaction with guests and team members in a fast-paced setting.
