Job Title: Guest Room Attendant

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Responsible for the cleaning and preparation of guest rooms while maintaining standards and consistency by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Cleans assigned rooms according to system standards.

• Responsible for using the correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces according to OSHA regulations and hotel best methods.

• Cleans guest rooms by category priority to include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming carpets, washing dishes and dusting furniture.

• Places and restocks useable items in the room including paper items, soap, towels, toiletries and amenities according to system standards.

• Cleans exterior entry, hallways and windows according to system standards.

• Operates housekeeping equipment in a correct and safe manner.

• Assists in laundry department as needed.

• Maintains and restocks housekeeping cart each day.

• Ensures presence of fire safety, rate cards and DND sign.

• Ensures all unnecessary lights are turned off as required.

• Maintains knowledge of hotel fire safety.

• Responsible for the proper administration of key control for issued keys or keys left by guests in room.

• Follows “lost and found” programs administered by Homewood Suites.

• Reports immediately to the Housekeeping Manager, Supervisor, Assistant General Manager or General Manager any out of the ordinary situations in the guests' room including pets, parties, dirty rooms or vacant rooms when a room is thought to be occupied.

• Completes maintenance work orders and delivers to designated area in a timely manner.

• Accommodates guest special requests courteously.

• Answers guest's questions regarding Homewood Suites and local area facilities and services.

• Carries out any reasonable request made by management.

• Reports immediately to management any missing or broken items based on the inventory sheet.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
