HOTEL HOUSEKEEPER

About the role

Forum Hotel is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hotel Housekeeper to join our Housekeeping Department in George Town, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining the exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards that define our hotel experience. As a Hotel Housekeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms, common areas, and facilities are immaculately maintained to the highest standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will directly contribute to guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of Forum Hotel.

What you'll be doing

• Cleaning and tidying guest rooms and bathrooms according to hotel standards and procedures, including vacuuming, dusting, sanitising surfaces and replenishing amenities
• Inspecting rooms for damage, maintenance issues or missing items and reporting these to the Housekeeping Supervisor
• Changing bed linens, towels and other soft furnishings in a timely and efficient manner
• Cleaning and maintaining common areas including corridors, lobbies, stairwells and public restrooms
• Operating cleaning equipment and using cleaning chemicals safely and appropriately
• Removing rubbish and waste materials from rooms and disposing of them in designated areas
• Restocking rooms with supplies such as toiletries, stationery and other guest amenities
• Responding promptly to guest requests for additional towels, linens or other items
• Maintaining a clean and organised storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment
• Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily cleaning schedules and targets
• Following all health, safety and hygiene protocols to maintain a safe working environment

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Hotel Housekeeper or in a similar housekeeping role within the hospitality industry
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderately heavy items regularly
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, procedures and the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently
• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining excellent communication with supervisors and team members
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and weekends as required
• Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to hotel policies and procedures
• Proficiency in basic English for safety and communication purposes
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform the demands of the role
• Preferred: Experience in a hotel or resort environment with familiarity with housekeeping management systems
