Job Summary

Staybridge Suites Irvine – John Wayne Airport is seeking a reliable, skilled, and guest-focused Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional with experience in general building repairs, basic plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and preventive maintenance.

As part of our 168-room extended-stay hotel, you will help maintain guestrooms, public areas, and building systems to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our guests.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues independently, and works effectively with other hotel departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs throughout guestrooms, public areas, and hotel facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical issues within the scope of the position.
• Complete general maintenance tasks, including painting, drywall repairs, caulking, carpentry, and fixture replacement.
• Inspect guestrooms and building systems to identify and correct maintenance deficiencies.
• Perform routine HVAC maintenance, including PTAC/VTAC units, filter replacement, and condensate drain cleaning.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests while minimizing disruption to hotel operations.
• Complete assigned work orders and document repairs, labor time, and task status accurately in Quore.
• Assist with routine safety inspections, equipment checks, and property improvement projects.
• Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and management regarding maintenance needs and room readiness.
• Follow established safety procedures and report potential hazards or equipment concerns.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 1–2 years of general maintenance experience preferred, ideally in a hotel, apartment community, or commercial property.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, and general building repairs.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to complete routine repairs independently.
• Ability to prioritize work orders and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and committed to quality workmanship.
• Professional communication skills and a positive, guest-service attitude.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments.
• Basic computer or smartphone skills for electronic work-order management.
• Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
• Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, and power tools.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.
• Occasional exposure to dust, odors, cleaning products, and maintenance-related materials.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule & Availability

• Full-time or part-time positions available.
• Flexible scheduling based on hotel operational needs.
• Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to respond to urgent maintenance needs during scheduled shifts.
