Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. This vital role involves maintaining a safe, comfortable, and inviting environment for guests and staff alike. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs across various building systems. Your expertise will help uphold the highest standards of quality and safety, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

Duties

• Conduct regular inspections of building interior and exterior facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and mechanical systems using schematics, hand tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters.
• Maintain facilities equipment including elevators, lighting fixtures, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing systems, and electrical installations.
• Execute carpentry tasks such as repair or installation of doors, windows, furniture, and interior fixtures.
• Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation troubleshooting and system adjustments when applicable.
• Lead maintenance painting projects to ensure aesthetic standards are met across the property.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, schematics updates, and safety checks.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to guest requests or issues related to facilities maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within the hospitality industry or residential buildings.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools for repairs and installations.
• Electrical experience including repair of electrical equipment and understanding of electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of HVAC system repair and building interior maintenance techniques.
• Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair with familiarity with plumbing codes and safety procedures.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
• Proficiency with maintenance painting, carpentry, welding, and other trades as needed.
• Experience working with electrical work, facilities equipment maintenance, MRO (maintenance, repair & operations), and schematics interpretation.
• Strong communication skills in English; ability to lead or supervise maintenance tasks is advantageous.
• Certification or experience in HVAC systems repair; familiarity with residential painting is preferred.
• Ability to operate electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; knowledge of plumbing systems is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on safety standards and team collaboration.
