In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. Your expertise will help uphold the highest standards of facility functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional eager to make a tangible impact on guest experiences through exceptional maintenance practices.

Duties

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair building interior systems including lighting, electrical wiring, plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and facilities equipment using schematics, hand tools, and specialized testing devices such as ohmmeters.
  • Conduct welding and mechanical repairs on various equipment components as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Maintain building interior aesthetics through painting (including residential painting) and carpentry tasks that enhance guest comfort and property appearance.
  • Follow detailed schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and execute repairs efficiently.
  • Oversee facilities maintenance operations by managing maintenance schedules, ordering parts (maintenance, repair, and operations supplies), and documenting all work performed.
  • Lead or assist with plumbing system maintenance including leak repairs, pipe replacements, and drain cleaning to ensure water safety and functionality.
  • Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting automated systems when applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards by adhering to electrical codes, HVAC regulations, and other relevant building codes while performing repairs or upgrades.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize maintenance tasks that minimize guest disruption while maximizing operational uptime.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance with a strong background in electrical work, HVAC system repair, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment repair including schematics interpretation and use of testing tools like ohmmeters.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automated building systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and building plans accurately.
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools for various repair tasks.
  • Strong understanding of facilities equipment maintenance including HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), plumbing systems, electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, and building interior maintenance.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English to coordinate with staff or guests when necessary.
  • Experience with maintenance painting—both routine touch-ups and full residential-style painting projects—demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Leadership qualities that enable effective supervision or collaboration within a team environment when required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, climbing ladders or scaffolding, bending or lifting heavy objects safely.
