Hotel Maintenance Manager

Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum

About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Hotel Maintenance Manager to join an exciting brand-new hotel launch in the Horsham area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional to play a key role in supporting the launch and ongoing maintenance of a new hotel operation.

You will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, public areas, hotel grounds and facilities to a high standard, ensuring the property remains safe, presentable and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day hotel maintenance and repairs
• Carry out general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating tasks where appropriate
• Implement and manage planned preventative maintenance schedules
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, equipment and facilities
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent repairs
• Support fire safety checks, emergency lighting, water temperature monitoring and legionella control procedures
• Liaise with and supervise external contractors and suppliers
• Maintain hotel grounds, gardens, car parks and external areas
• Keep accurate maintenance records and report safety concerns
• Support hotel operations, including event set-ups and general site requirements
• Prioritise maintenance tasks and support junior team members where applicable

Requirements

• Previous experience in hotel, property, facilities or general building maintenance
• Practical knowledge of plumbing, electrics, carpentry, painting and decorating
• Experience managing contractors and maintenance schedules
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
• Good understanding of health, safety and property maintenance standards
• Flexible approach to urgent maintenance issues
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
• Own tools and a reliable vehicle would be advantageous
