About the Role

We are seeking a hardworking, honest, reliable, and physically fit individual to work as a Messenger in our hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel's surroundings, assisting with basic operational duties, operating the generator, and supporting the security team with gate operations.

The ideal candidate must be proactive, attentive to instructions, and willing to perform various general duties to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Generator Operation: Operate the hotel's generator as required, monitor its operation, and report any faults or unusual sounds to management.
• Water Supply: Operate the water pumping system to ensure adequate water supply to the hotel.
• Gate Assistance: Assist the security personnel with opening and closing the hotel gate for guests, staff, and authorised visitors.
• Compound Cleaning: Sweep and maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the hotel's compound and surrounding areas.
• Gutter Cleaning: Regularly clean gutters and drainage channels to prevent blockages and maintain proper water flow.
• Plant Care: Water and care for plants around the hotel premises.
• General Duties: Carry out odd jobs, errands, and other reasonable tasks assigned by management.
• Safety and Security: Follow hotel procedures when handling equipment and ensure assigned duties are carried out safely.
• Other Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as required to support the hotel's daily operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must reside on or around Ring Road, Ibadan, for easy access to the workplace.
• Must be honest, trustworthy, punctual, and dependable.
• Must be physically fit and capable of carrying out outdoor cleaning and other manual tasks.
• Must be willing to learn and operate the hotel's generator and water pumping system.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Must maintain a neat appearance and demonstrate a responsible attitude towards work.
• Previous experience as a hotel messenger, cleaner, maintenance assistant, or in a similar role is an advantage but not compulsory.

Working Conditions

• Working hours: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
• One day off per week, scheduled for either Monday or Tuesday.
• The position requires outdoor work and general physical duties.
• The successful candidate must be available to resume work punctually and maintain consistent attendance.
