CDL-A Hotshot Flatbed Driver – Company Equipment Provided

Milestone Xpress Inc. is hiring a CDL-A driver for our growing hotshot flatbed operation. This is a company-driver position based in California, with the opportunity for expanded OTR routes as our operation grows.

Drivers operate company-owned equipment consisting of a Ram 3500 dually and 40-foot flatbed trailer. You do not need to provide your own truck or trailer.

About the Position

You will haul flatbed freight to customer locations throughout California while coordinating with our dispatch team. Routes are determined by freight availability and customer needs, so destinations and schedules may vary.

Some trips require overnight stays. Applicants should be comfortable traveling throughout California and staying overnight when a load requires it.

Milestone Xpress is also expanding its operation to include OTR freight throughout the 48 states.

Driver Responsibilities

The driver will be expected to:

• Safely operate a Ram 3500 dually and 40-foot flatbed
• Transport and deliver freight throughout California
• Secure loads using appropriate straps, chains, binders, tarps, and other equipment
• Check cargo and securement throughout each trip
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Maintain accurate logs, delivery paperwork, and inspection records
• Stay in contact with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, and load progress
• Plan routes and navigate safely and efficiently
• Maintain professional communication with customers, shippers, and receivers
• Notify management of equipment or maintenance concerns
• Take proper care of company-owned equipment
• Follow applicable DOT, FMCSA, and company safety procedures

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• A valid Class A CDL
• At least 1 year of relevant commercial driving experience, including hotshot, flatbed, trailer, or similar experience
• An acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely maneuver a truck with a 40-foot flatbed trailer
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle inspections and safety requirements
• Understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and remain responsive to dispatch
• Availability for overnight travel as needed
• Willingness to complete required DOT drug and alcohol testing

Previous experience securing flatbed freight with chains, binders, straps, and tarps is preferred.

Pay & Equipment

This is a percentage-based driver pay position with opportunities for performance incentives and bonuses.

Milestone Xpress provides the truck, trailer, and necessary company equipment. Additional compensation information will be provided during the hiring process.
