House Cleaner (Project/Substitute)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated House Cleaner to join our team and help maintain pristine, welcoming environments for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in residential spaces, ensuring every detail meets our clients’ standards of sanitation and comfort. You will also be responsible for taking on one-time cleaning projects, such as deep cleanings and move-in/move-out cleanings, with thoroughness and efficiency meeting our company's standards. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to the valuable customer experience our clients have come to expect, making homes sparkle and feel inviting. This position offers an engaging opportunity to deliver exceptional service while working in a dynamic and personalized environment.

This position is primarily performing project cleaning work on an as-needed basis, with potential for more regular hours. We are actively expanding our client base, and will assign regular/recurring hours to this position as they become available with new clientele. Applying for this position acknowledges that these hours are likely, but not guaranteed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Prior cleaning experience, preferably residential.
• Flexibility and willingness to cover shifts on short notice as-needed.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently with little supervision or direction.
• Reliable vehicle in good working condition.
• Willingness to take on regular part-time hours as available.

TRAINING:

This position will receive training on an as-needed basis as follows:

For project shifts, the training manager will schedule a period of time during the employee's first cleaning to work alongside and supervise the employee, with further shadowing or training provided on as-needed or as-requested basis.

For substitute shifts, the training manager will meet the employee at the start of their first cleaning shift for the assigned client. The manager will then familiarize the employee with the house, the clients themselves when applicable, and its layout and procedures. The employee will be provided with Standard Operating Procedure documents, as well as photos of the client's home if available, to reference throughout their shift, specific to the client's home they are substituting at, detailing the tasks & procedures for that home. If no one is available for in-person training, then a phone walk-through will be provided.

For regular assigned shifts, the training manager will accompany the employee for the beginning of their first shift, or else arrange a time to introduce the cleaner to the new client. The employee will be provided with a Standard Operating Procedures document tailored to the client's home, as well as reference photos if available.

Responsibilities

• Take on individualized cleaning projects for clients, including deep cleaning tasks, move-in/move-out cleanings, and other high-demand jobs, performing duties in an efficient and thorough manner.
• Perform thorough and individualized cleaning of residential spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and sanitizing surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchens by cleaning appliances, countertops, sinks, and ensuring proper sanitation practices.
• Care for flooring through specialized techniques as needed, such as carpet cleaning and floor polishing, as needed.
• Manage bathroom sanitation by disinfecting toilets, showers, tubs, mirrors, and fixtures to uphold health standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by respecting clients’ privacy, listening to their specific needs, and delivering personalized cleaning solutions.
• Follow safety protocols related to janitorial tasks, including proper use of cleaning products and equipment to prevent accidents or damage.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in residential cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred; hotel or commercial cleaning experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques including best-use practices and techniques for various cleaning products and equipment, as well as sanitation procedures.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning machinery safely.
• Familiarity with housekeeper management or custodial experience is advantageous but not required.
• Basic understanding of safety standards related to cleaning chemicals and equipment use.

Schedule

Projects as-needed, plus any part-time hours assigned (schedule is flexible, daytime availablity required.)

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
