House Manager

Job summary

We are seeking a responsible, organized, and trustworthy House Manager to oversee the smooth day-to-day running of a private residence. The successful candidate will coordinate household staff, supervise cleaning and maintenance, manage household supplies, and ensure the home is well-maintained and efficiently managed.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations and general management of the household.
• Supervise housekeepers, cooks, drivers, gardeners, security personnel, and other domestic staff.
• Prepare and monitor household schedules and staff duties.
• Ensure the home is clean, organized, secure, and properly maintained.
• Monitor household supplies, groceries, toiletries, cleaning materials, and other inventory.
• Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and servicing of household equipment and facilities.
• Liaise with vendors, artisans, contractors, and service providers when required.
• Monitor staff attendance, performance, punctuality, and conduct.
• Ensure household rules and standards are consistently followed.
• Assist with receiving guests and coordinating household activities and events.
• Manage household-related errands and purchases.
• Keep accurate records of household expenses, purchases, maintenance, and supplies.
• Report household issues and major expenditures to the employer or designated representative.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the employer, family, residence, and personal affairs.
• Perform other household management duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in House Management, Estate Management, Hospitality, or a similar role.
• OND, HND, Bachelor’s Degree, or relevant professional experience.
• Strong experience supervising domestic staff.
• Good knowledge of household cleaning, maintenance, and general operations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage household budgets, purchases, and inventory.
• Must be trustworthy, discreet, responsible, and reliable.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
• Good understanding of professional household etiquette.
• Valid driver’s licence and good driving experience is an added advantage.
• Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
