Housekeeper

Overview of the role:

This is an exciting and detail-orientated housekeeping role with the benefit of working in a homely family setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning, organising and maintaining a beautiful modern farmland home. The successful candidate will be a detail and task orientated housekeeper to complete domestic cleaning tasks. Due to the location of the role being in a family home, empathy and kindness towards the family and other staff is essential as well as respecting boundaries and privacy. Therefore, a warm and kind personality is essential for the successful candidate as well as proficient independent housekeeping skills. Additionally a driving licence is advantageous for this role to take rubbish to waste and recycling centres, mileage will be paid for or use the families car. There is no access to public transport surrounding the property.

Main duties and requirements of the successful candidate:

• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Hoovering the house both upstairs and downstairs
• Ensuring any dishes or washing up is completed with the dishwasher
• Dusting is essential due to high ceiling architecture of the home
• Occasional sweeping of outside patio
• Making beds and hoovering and cleaning bedroom spaces
• Mopping and cleaning multiple bathrooms
• Correctly cleaning stone floors (training will be provided for this if required)
• Taking recycling and rubbish to a disposal.
• Cleaning glass surfaces and features in the home
• Maintaining a clean and organised home generally
• Sanitising surfaces

Pay, hours & role logistics:

The pay for this role is between £12.50 - £13 per hour depending on relevant experience and can be discussed with the employer

There are no weekends required for this role with some flexibility on hours and days. Ideally 16hrs a week across 3 or 4 days per week. The working times are negotiable with the employer.

The family take recycling and rubbish to a disposal so willing to drive is advantageous

Essential candidate requirements:

• Punctuality, consistency and commitment to working hours
• Proficient physical mobility and stamina as the property is large and has multiple stair cases
• Respecting the family space and personal boundaries
• Compassion to family members
• Experience (ideally 1 year or previous relevant work experience) in house keeping or personal cleaning services
• Independent and self-directed work ethic
• Prideful and precise cleaning work in the home
• Positive and social personality
• Satisfactory DBS check
