Housekeeper

Longlea Nursing Home is looking for a reliable, hardworking and caring Housekeeper to join our friendly team on a 9-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties in residents' bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms and other areas of the home.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention and control.
• Follow cleaning schedules and ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Handle cleaning products and equipment safely, following COSHH guidelines.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards or concerns promptly.
• Respect residents' dignity, privacy and personal belongings.
• Work closely with the wider care team to maintain a comfortable and homely environment.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is desirable, preferably within a care home or healthcare setting.
• Good understanding of hygiene and infection control practices.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• A caring, respectful and positive attitude towards older people.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
