HOUSEKEEPER-DAY SHIFT

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of resident rooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
• Handle laundry duties efficiently, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with healthcare protocols.
• Follow strict safety protocols related to chemical handling and manual handling to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.
• Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain a pristine environment.
• Utilize janitorial equipment properly for sanitation tasks while adhering to environmental services best practices.
• Assist in infection prevention efforts by following healthcare-specific sanitation procedures and safety guidelines.
• Handle heavy lifting safely during supply restocking or waste removal activities while practicing safe lifting techniques.
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, safety inspections, and incident reports as required.

Experience

• Prior custodial or janitorial experience in healthcare facilities or hospitals is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, safety protocol adherence, and environmental services is essential.
• Experience with healthcare infection prevention and control practices will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with sanitation techniques used in healthcare settings is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors while maintaining a positive attitude.
