About the role

Green Gables Nursing Home is an independent, family-run home providing nursing, residential and dementia care.

We are looking for an experienced, organised and reliable Housekeeping & Laundry Supervisor to take day-to-day responsibility for our laundry and oversee the work of our existing cleaning team.

This is a hands-on role: you will carry out the laundry yourself while organising cleaning duties, checking standards and supporting colleagues. You will help ensure residents’ clothing and linen are well cared for and that the home remains clean, comfortable and welcoming.

Your responsibilities

• Run the daily laundry: sort, wash, dry, iron and fold residents’ clothing, bedding and towels, following care labels and the home’s procedures.
• Keep clothing and linen organised: return clothing to the correct residents, maintain tidy linen cupboards and ensure clean supplies are available.
• Supervise the cleaning team: allocate daily tasks, explain priorities, check completed work and provide constructive guidance.
• Maintain standards: oversee cleaning schedules and records, identify areas needing additional attention and assist with housekeeping where required.
• Work safely and report concerns: follow infection-prevention procedures, ensure products and equipment are used safely, monitor supplies and report maintenance or staffing issues to the Home Manager.

You will respect residents’ privacy, dignity and belongings throughout your work.

About you

You will have previous professional housekeeping or cleaning experience and experience supporting, supervising or leading colleagues. Professional laundry experience is important, as you will be responsible for organising and completing the daily laundry.

Experience in a care home, hospital or hotel would be particularly relevant, although previous care-home employment is not essential.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices details and can give clear instructions in a friendly, respectful way.

You must be able to travel reliably to Grayshott for the agreed working hours.
