Housekeeper/Laundry Worker

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundry Worker to join our nursing facility team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and customer service, ensuring that guest accommodations and public areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and comfort. Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment.
• Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and facility protocols.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and steam cleaners to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition.
• Manage laundry responsibilities including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens, towels, and patient clothing with care.
• Ensure proper manual handling of heavy items such as mattresses, furniture, or large laundry loads while adhering to safety procedures.
• Follow facility emergency procedures promptly and effectively in case of incidents or safety concerns.
• Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to facility housekeeping management guidelines and industry best practices for custodial work.
• Assist with janitorial tasks as needed to support overall facility cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

• Proven experience in nursing facility housekeeping or custodial experience..
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including cleaning, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors.
• Familiarity with chemical handling procedures and the safe use of cleaning agents in compliance with SDS guidelines.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling bulky laundry or cleaning equipment.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude towards guest interactions.
• Experience with industrial cleaning tools and janitorial equipment is preferred.
• Understanding of emergency procedures and sanitation standards required for hospitality environments.
