Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment such as vacuums and floor care tools
• Handle laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and guest clothing with care and efficiency
• Use chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and proper handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for yourself and others
• Maintain high standards of sanitation by disinfecting surfaces, cleaning floors, and ensuring all areas meet hotel cleanliness protocols
• Operate janitorial equipment effectively for tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, and floor polishing to ensure spotless floors and surfaces
• Assist with hotel emergency procedures when necessary, including evacuation or safety protocols to ensure guest and staff safety
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to guest requests or concerns related to housekeeping or laundry services

Experience

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience within a hospitality or hotel environment is highly preferred
• Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management practices and standards is advantageous
• Experience handling cleaning chemicals safely and understanding safety data sheets (SDS) requirements
• Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques including floor care and maintenance of cleaning equipment
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of linens or cleaning supplies safely and efficiently
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor in a hospitality setting
• Prior experience with hotel emergency procedures and sanitation standards will support success in this role
