Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeper/Laundry Worker to join our hospitality team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. Your attention to detail and commitment to sanitation will ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to a positive guest experience through exceptional housekeeping and laundry services.

Schedule: Full-time, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, 5 days/week with a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents
• Handle laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens, towels, and guest clothing with proper manual handling techniques
• Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) for all cleaning chemicals and following hotel emergency procedures when necessary
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and steam cleaners efficiently to ensure optimal floor care and cleanliness
• Restock supplies in guest rooms and public areas, ensuring all amenities are available and well-maintained
• Conduct routine janitorial tasks including floor cleaning (sweeping, mopping), dusting, trash removal, and surface disinfecting to uphold hygiene standards
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to laundry loads or cleaning supplies while following safety protocols for manual handling

Skills

• Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial/janitorial roles within hospitality environments
• Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and industrial cleaning methods
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely by understanding chemical handling procedures and safety data sheets (SDS)
• Excellent customer service skills to address guest needs courteously and professionally
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment operation such as vacuums, floor care machines, and steam cleaners
• Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures to respond effectively in urgent situations
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, walking, and manual handling tasks required in housekeeping operations
