Housekeeper/Laundry Worker

Job Overview

The Housekeeper/Laundry Worker for Assisted Living Facility maintains clean, orderly and shared spaces while processing linens and resident laundry. This hands-on role calls for care, efficiency, organization and respectful customer service. You will use cleaning equipment and approved chemical agents safely, follow sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize assigned rooms and common areas; vacuum, sweep, mop, and perform routine floor care.
• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and other laundry according to established procedures.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemical agents as directed; review safety data sheets (SDS) and follow handling and storage requirements.
• Move supplies and laundry using safe manual-handling practices, including when tasks involve heavy lifting.
• Report maintenance concerns, supply needs, and safety issues; follow applicable facility emergency procedures. Your impact: Consistent cleaning and careful laundry handling help residents enjoy comfortable, sanitary spaces and ensure teams have clean linens ready for use.

Experience

• Previous hotel or assisted living housekeeping/laundry, hotel, hospitality, janitorial, custodial, or industrial cleaning experience is helpful.
• Familiarity with cleaning, floor cleaning, floor care, vacuuming, sanitation, and cleaning equipment is preferred.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely and follow safety data sheets (SDS) and workplace procedures.
• Able to perform active work, including standing, bending, manual handling, and lifting items as required.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and courteous, with a commitment to customer service and safe work practices.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
